She wanted to know what love was, I told her I could tell her.
I provided her with a narrative that my heart spoke in first person. She was the main subject, while I played the words of wisdom that guided her along the vast journey that expectancy couldn’t hold a finger against - Life is unexpected. and love is that one thing that never came and went, it came and stayed - whether we were blind at the time or forgetful of it’s ways that happiness works in the most mysterious mannerisms to make our whole life change I’m so in love - repeat that phrase three more times. I’m so deep in love, diving into the depths of the pretentious abyss that adolescence are claimed to never understand, yet in our youngest generations that’s when we fully comprehend it. To be pure, innocent, no bounds or restrictions - we knew back then how to love now our premonitions are deemed suicidal. I wish I still had you right beside me, so I can not hear your heartbeat, but feel it. Destined to be, fated to stay attracted even through the separation of heaven and hell - I told her I’d go through hell and back for her, but I’m lost reminiscing in the memories of what could’ve been, rather what it is. I’m in love now, yet I feel so contented. It’s time to unleash the chains of restriction that we’ve come to know as insecurity - breathe the breath of life that the angels use to bless us with on the nights we closed each other eyes and told the other we loved them. In the darkest and sleepless nights, our emotions of love quiver against our will - bending our logic and using our firm yet fragile bones to reveal to us that we are humans - bound to feel and love numerous times until we fall into the abyss where our imagination can never describe. Until our happiness is signified by a white wedding dress or a tuxedo of your choice, suited up to represent the dignity you want to release towards your significant other. In the fairy tales of our time, to the untold stories beneath all our minds, we would never be able to fathom what it really means to love another. The scorn and spite may always rain supreme against our most joyous occasions simply because we are flawed enough never to look in the same direction we were hurt in the first place. Clench the iron first of surrender that we will never be able to grasp because we fall under the world’s desires, rather than our own. Forever selfish and bound by the laws of physics, chemistry, and mathematics and to voice our opinion through our speech, mind, and writing - we have learned and experienced the heartbreaks that are strong enough to shatter someone’s world, yet witness a love powerful enough to make someone else’s. We are people in other people’s eyes, yet we represent the world, the logic, the good and the bad in someone else’s. Love can never be described through one defintion nor one emotion. The English language was made all from the adjectives to describe and relate to love. Without love, we are not human. I just want to hold you through the night, till the darkest days end and brightest ones occur, allow me to hold you through everything because to me, that’s the start of love.
And I told her I could tell her what love was, but now, I can’t even tell myself what it is.
